Child Protective Services cases can be emotionally draining for all parties involved. Practicing CPS law in Wayne county, Michigan has helped me understand the many difficulties that families are forced to confront when put in these situations. Finding the best solution, at the lowest cost, in the shortest amount of time, is the best way to minimize any of the negative effects that are generally experienced as a result of going through the process.

Through more than 23 years of experience working with CPS related cases, it has become clear that early negotiation is the best way to arrive at a favorable resolution. It is very important to avoid any disconnects in communication as they often lead to the most burdensome and lengthy cases.

Although each parent has personal interests, CPS will primarily be focused on the best interest of the children. In these situations, it is vital to come to an agreement with the agency that will favor you and close the floodgates of an unfavorable outcome. I will take an extremely firm position when fighting with Wayne County CPS, and they all know this very well. Lawyers that do not have an extensive understanding of CPS law will not be such a threat.

It is often the case that a non CPS lawyer may not have the education and or experience to navigate a CPS case. So if you think your business lawyer or Estate lawyer can help you, you may want to reconsider. I do not take business law cases or Bankruptcy cases because it is not my arena, however many non CPS lawyers will take CPS cases resulting in an unfavorable outcome.
